Use It Or Lose It: Week One

Did you think I forgot? It has been a week, so it is time to take a hard look at some items on the chopping block! I'm actually looking forward to this and have been all week. I think, perhaps, I make bad choices sometimes. Annnd if you have no idea what I'm blathering on about, you should definitely check out this post!

I think I want to keep this rather brief. I tend to ramble, and this is a fantastic opportunity for that sort of thing. I'm going to try and keep under...say fifty words for each product. I'm also going to give it an "x/10" rating where 1= omgneveragain and 10= thisisbetterthanchocolatebathtubs. I think that is pretty fair.

Weird "Argan Oil" Body Wash
Meh. All around. I grabbed this for ultra cheap at Grocery Outlet...and I think I still got robbed. It sort-of dried my skin, which I guess means it cleansed a bit. It smelled nice, but none of that translated to my skin at all. Just meh.

Alterna Caviar 10-in-1 Leave In Conditioner
It ain't bad. I got this from Ipsy last month. It leaves my hair soft but not weighed down. I don't need a whole lot, so this ought to last me a while. It isn't groundbreaking, but it is nice. I dunno if I would buy it for $25 though.

Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods Body Lotion
There was a sale, and I caved. This stuff, beyond smelling really nice, is actually pretty moisturizing. For someone with dry skin, finding smelly things is often a challenge. No complaints here, though I won't buy the big size. I don't have time for that.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Cleanser
Another Ipsy item. I don't use scrubs on my face, so this was used on hands, elbows and knees only. Perfectly serviceable for that. It kinda smells like Lemon Pledge. It did leave me wanting moisture though, so beware using it on your face.

Nourish Organic Cream Facial Cleanser
This stuff is weird. It didn't dry my skin, even though it is foamy. It smells gross and looks...inappropriate. I thought it was gonna be the winner here, and then my face broke out on Wednesday. My normally dry skin was also weirdly oily by 4pm, regardless of the lotion I used.

And there it is! One week and five items done! I'm actually pretty proud of myself. It looks like there was only one survivor from my picks this week. That is a small dent in the mountain, but it is a dent nonetheless! Any progress counts people. Are you participating too? Don't forget to use the #useitorloseit tag so we can cheer each other on.

  1. Did you finish these items or are you just getting rid of them? Sorry, I'm a bit confused.

    1. derp. I am just getting rid of the fails...though I did finish that microdermabrasion thing. I dont have the attention span to finish most products (which is why I often buy trial sizes) so I'm just trying to devote a solid 7 days.

  2. I got that facial cleanser in my last ipsy bag too and know exactly what you mean! It smells like that washable paint you use in elementary school and the color and consistency is...as you said inappropriate lol
