Use It or Lose It: Week Four

Yay for cleaning out my stash! This week made me feel like a giant. All of my products were sample sizes, which is definitely a good portion of my hoard. I feel a weird sense of accomplishment just using one thing from my sample box...let alone five.

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk
This might be the best dry shampoo I've used that didn't come from a salon. Absolutely no scent. I went four days without washing my hair, and I didn't feel greasy or itchy. Less is definitely more with this stuff, as over-spray is unpleasant.

Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil
Ultra fruity smelling. Tastes awful, but not chemically. My face feels clean and happy. I wish it were less smelly. I also wish it were less thick, as it can be hard to massage into my skin. If I could afford it, I would buy it again.

Coco Mademoiselle EDP
Definitely a Chanel fragrance, but somehow doesn't smell like a fancy old woman. I applied it to my neck, and it gave me hives...but my wrists/arms were fine. Weird. Makes me feel fancy...because Chanel.

Clear Clinic Laboratories Spot Treatment
Just ok. I don't see a huge difference between this and your average spot killer. I hate the fuzzy doe foot. It just attracts dirt, which then gets transferred into the tube. Yay. Four days, and there was a bit of cloudiness in there from dead skin and forgotten makeup.

Josie Maran Argan Oil
I love this stuff. I've been using it off and on for years. You can definitely find it cheaper elsewhere. Big problem is the dropper. That stupid rubber thing degrades before you can use the whole bottle. I've only had this since July, and it's already gross.

This week was the week of the wee. It was also the week of omfgyouwantmetopaywhat! These are definitely not the smartest buys in the world, no matter what I think about these products. I think that the lesson this week is less about using things up and more about buying smart. If you shop around, you can save a lot of money and still get the product you want.

It has been a month now, and I feel like I am hardly making progress at all. I just have to keep reminding myself that this is a marathon and not a sprint.

  1. I find Chanel Chance to be less old lady.

    1. Which one? (I spent a season at a department store fragrance counter) I actually like all three of them, but they still have that underlying Chanel-ish smell.
