...But I'm Not *In* Love With It

Looking at other people's nails, there are so many times that I love something on them, but would never wear it myself.  The Sinful Colors Sugar Rush collection was awkward for me, because pastels fall strongly into that category.  Sometimes challenging your tastes and habits helps you discover that you love something you'd never expected to even like.  It wasn't one of those times...at all.  I usually layer any cream I wear, because I have over 450 untried polishes and it helps bring that number down faster.  I was so uncomfortable wearing most of that collection and they were so far out of my comfort zone that I couldn't find good pairings for them.  I love Sweet Nothing, so pairing it with Love & Beauty Crystal/Black was easy.  I like Sugar Rush, but I had to look around in my collection a bit more.  I wound up going with Sation Tall, Dark, & Has Some.

The mix of different sizes, colors and shapes of glitter is terrific.  I love the inclusion of shards with 'regular' glitter, such a cool effect.  It applied wonderfully too.  Wearing Tall, Dark, & Has Some (ugh...that name) made me want to get the whole Sation Glitter I collection.  I have Video Game Vixen too, but I haven't worn it yet.  I almost bought Ego Friendly also...and I really wish I had!

As for the pairing...well...I love it, but...like the title of this post says...  I feel like I've borrowed someone else's nails.  I'd rave over this combo if I saw it as someone's NOTD, but it's so completely not me!  Even mattified, it just didn't feel right.

I'm absolutely going to try Tall, Dark, & Has Some over another base at some point.  It has so much potential!

There's a reason I rarely take photos like this...my pinkies are short!

I found most of my Sation polishes at Marshall's or TJ Maxx, but it was a while ago.  I think eBay and the Miss Professional Nail website are probably the places to get them now.

Two new to me brands in two days!  Back with another Sinful Colors spring collection next time though.  See you then!

  1. I always try to layer over my cream polishes as well, I also have a lot of untrieds. I love this combo!
