Half-Moons and Galaxies

You may remember a week or so ago, I showed off my black half moon manicure. I loved it so much, I couldn't bear to remove it. But it was beginning to show wear...so something had to be done. Then I noticed this picture from one of the girls I follow on the instagrams, and I knew what had to be done.

Galaxy nails! They are always a good solution!

Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly what colors I used (I know, I know. Bad blogger!) but it can't be all that different from what I used in the tutorial, though I think I substituted purples for the fuchsias. I also tried, for the first time, to draw those little star bursts...and lest just say that brushwork is not my strong suit.

Overall, I am pretty happy with how it turned out...though I am noticing now that the shape on my middle finger looks a bit...phallic. Oops. Definitely not my intent, and it wasn't obvious in reality. I definitely need to do more galactic manicures though. I love them desperately.
