For Science!

I'd been eyeing a bunch of Vivid Lacquer's stamping plates for ages, but the ones I wanted the most never seemed to be in stock at the same time when I browsed.  Things finally lined up just right a few weeks ago and I jumped at the chance.  There's a lot of awesome in Anni's shop, and I used the spotted image on VL 011 to do the mani I wore to FINALLY meet Nichole and McGee.  That comic book themed plate is great, but VL 017 is just too perfect for this blog...

VL 017 (currently out of stock) is science-themed!!  AAAHH!!  It's got a little bit of everything, from beakers and double helices to atoms, equations, and planets...I love it!  It could use a dinosaur or trilobite, but otherwise it's perfect.  Nichole told me I had to do "FOR SCIENCE!" nails before I shortened them.  I used Sally Hansen Whirlwind White and Go Gold over FingerPaints Black Expressionism, then mattified it with OPI Matte Top Coat.  Go Gold doesn't show up quite as boldly as I'd have liked and I don't love my placement of the words either (you can't see the "for" well), so I might revisit this someday.  The plate itself is excellent!  Very crisp!

The sharpness of the images is more obvious matte than glossy.  The gold was very hard to see this way too.

...and for good measure, here's just the white.  White is notoriously hard to stamp with.  Even a white as good as Whirlwind White isn't perfect, but this plate made it look so good!

I'm definitely going to be buying more plates from Vivid Lacquer...especially if she ever does trilobites, dinosaurs, etc.  I'd be all over that!
