Throwback Thursday - Peel Me A Gobi Grape?

Emphasis on the question mark at the end.  I'm not sure if it's my expectations or my bottle of Peel Me A Gobi Grape that went wrong somewhere.

It's not that it's not pretty.  There's a kinda frosty thing going on, but not in a bad way.  It's just that it's not at all what I was expecting.  Not even kinda.  Look at it in this post by polish insomniac and tell me this is even the same polish.  I bought it from a seller on Storenvy and I don't hold it against her, but I have strong suspicions that this is a salon franken.  Where the hell did that blue come from otherwise, and where's the copper?  Ugh.  At least I got it for "only" $10, which isn't bad at all for a VHTF OPI, but now I'm thinking I might buy another bottle if one ever pops up.  Bleh.  Oh well.  This is two coats, by the way.

Peel me some sour grapes.  Boo.  I figured I might as well try to "fix" it and bring it more in line with my original expectations, so I threw some CND Copper Shimmer over top.

That's more like it, especially in the fading sunlight...

...and when the copper really pops.

Do you have PMaGG?  Did I get a "bad" bottle or what?

  1. Yeah... I'm not sure that bottle hasn't been messed with or something. It looks more like Catherine the Grape than PMaGG. Mine looks like PI's. Honestly, I don't wear it as much as I thought I would. I lusted after it FOREVER and finally got my mitts on it and it was like oh... that's pretty. NEXT! LOL I think I might actually like Contrary Polish's Desert Fruit a bit more!

  2. I think someone jacked w/ your bottle because mine looks like Polished Insomniac's, although the purple in mine is slightly faded/dustier than hers. Course that post is six years old, so perhaps mine is just showing her age!
