Sally Hansen Greenlight

 purchased by me

This has been a great year for Sally Hansen fans.  A new collection pops up every few weeks, but they've also added a few shades to each of their core lines.  When I noticed a blue-green jelly, well...I couldn't resist.

Greenlight is a milky blue-green jelly.

Ooohs and ahhhs, right?  Yes, I'd like it more if it was glassy instead of milky, but...I can't argue with the color.  Plus it's always good to see another jelly in a permanent line instead of LE.  It applies evenly, without the crazy streaking that some milky jellies get.   This is four coats, but two or three would be plenty for shorter nails.  I'm usually on the fence about VNL, but I like the slightly cloudy, two-tone effect this gives.

It's sheer enough for sandwiching too!

with Shake Shake (silver microglitter)

Bottom line:  Milky, not glassy, but applies well and sandwichable.  Yay!

I know I've asked this before, but how do you feel about VNL?

  1. Looks good on you! I had forgotten about the sandwich-ability of this one--thanks for reminding me. Now I just have to remember where I put my bottle. :)

  2. I picked this up a few months ago thinking it was a teal creme. I was so happy to see that it wasn't! I looked up swatches but I literally couldn't find anything. It was like it was nonexistent... You have a lovely swatch though! I like to sandwich Maybelline Clearly Spotted with it. And on the subject of visible nail lines... I'm okay with them! Not so much with colors but with sheer nudes and pinks and whites I LOVE them. My nails are too short to have any real VNL most of the time, though.

  3. Well done! I usually try to avoid vnl with undies, but every once in a while I make it work with stamping or other nail art. My beds are so short that letting my lines show just how micro they are feels icky. LOL

  4. i actually like VNL if it's the right way - things that are patchy or streaky that make VNL look like a painting fail, no thanks. but ones like this where the coverage is smooth and even? i think it's like sheer sexy lingerie, and really pretty.
