The Lady Varnishes...a nice surprise.

I am bad at deciding. No one debates this. It is why I change my hair color/style monthly. When I made my first order from The Lady Varnishes, I couldn't decide on a second color to grab. (I dunno why I wanted two...but it had to be a pair.) I stumbled across a "mystery" listing...and I was hooked. Who doesn't like a sparkly surprise?

I can't find the listing anymore (maybe this was the only one?) but if I remember right, it was for an "oops or discontinued polish". So of course, my indecisive self jumped at the chance. I often enjoy letting the universe pick for me...plus is was half price, so it practically didn't count!

This is a warm plum jelly glitter with cobalt, green, and gold glitters. I love it. It reminds me of something, but now that it is time to actually write it down my brain has turned into a colander. Sigh.

Damn you brain, Y U NO WORK RIGHT?!

Like usual, I added a matte coat. Unfortunately, I added it like a drunken monkey dancing across a rope bridge...which is always lovely. I think my trusty NYC matte topper is starting to show its age. I have to thin it a bit just about every time I crack it open. I am so glad I did though. I can't decide if I like it better matte or glossy.

And that's all she wrote, kids! What do you think? Would you have taken the risk on an unknown polish like I did? Or perhaps you are more of the "completely research all my options" persuasion? We all know which camp I am in!

  1. I love when she has mystery polishes available! I pick one up pretty much every time I see one while placing my monthly disney order ;) so far I've only gotten polishes from older collections, never an unnamed one, but I've never been disappointed!
