Bringing Up Old Sh*t: My First China Glaze Polishes

I've always been into nail polish, but for a very long time I only bought polish at drugstores. I didn't really think about beauty supply stores, and I assumed that they only had "weird" brands that weren't as good.

Yes, I was an idiot.

The very first China Glaze polishes I ever bought were these three. I think I got them in 2008 or so. Maybe before. I know it was before offspring #2 was born...but beyond that I don't remember. They're old. They need a good shaking prior to use.

I decided that I needed to do something with these three all together, and of course a gradient came to mind. Can you believe I've never tried a gradient with multiple colors at once? I KNOW. And because I just got a great jelly-ish white, I had to give it a go.

 Colors Used:
China Glaze Flying Dragon
China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise
China Glaze Blue Sparrow
Octopus Party Baptism

It was a bit tricky, and I didn't do myself any favors by using polishes with glitter in there. But I kinda like the way it looks. The glitter in Flying Dragon twinkled a bit in the sun, and the Turned Up Turquoise melded with Baptism the base a very gel-ish look.

  1. That looks great ! I really like those colors together

  2. This is really pretty! I like the colors together. :)

    1. :D thanks. I got lucky that these colors actually work together. Back when I bought these, nail art was not even a passing thought.
