Hard Candy Beetle

A few months ago, I was at Walmart with the family. I wandered over to the cosmetics department and spied a shimmery, duochromy Hard Candy polish. It was the only one on the shelf and it had been obviously opened. (Hard Candy comes with a little ring shrink-wrapped to the cap) I don't like buying things that are opened and it was the last one on the shelf, so I passed it by.

A month or so later, we were back at Walmart looking for school uniforms for the Charlie-monster. On our way to the check-out counter, I remembered the polish that got away. I went over to see if it had been restocked...and of course it hadn't. That same sad pre-opened bottle was still sitting right where I left it. I decided I couldn't leave it alone. It had to be MINE.

Colors Used:
Hard Candy in Beetle
Sally Hansen black crackle coat

So, a while after this manicure was dead and gone, I found out this polish is a pretty good dupe for Orly's Space Cadet. Which is kinda cool, I guess. Hard Candy is $5.00 at Walmart, and Orly isn't the most widely available polish brand.

And since seeing Amanda's sponged-on CG polish...I kinda want to revisit this color. I bet it would look awesome applied with a sponge.

  1. I'm so confused!! ....isn't Beetle supposed to be a dupe of Orly Space Cadet? This looks soooooo pink.

  2. it does look pretty pink here. But the lighting is kinda weird in my house. This pic http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_A3113pixwoU/TMm4mJuFoPI/AAAAAAAACR8/H2OcLUaJ5t0/s1600/hard+candy+space+cadet+sun.jpg shows it really well.
